publish the 4 March 2018 at 0 h 24 min

Initiated by Transcultures, in connection with UCL Culture, RHIZOmatics was conceived as a matrix to propose an easy-to-use tool for the development of an art based geolocation course, which adapts to the singularities that unfold in each particular territory. This application for Android smartphones, initiated in the framework of the Season of the Digital Cultures, of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in October 2017, was developed by artist / programmer / researcher Franck Soudan. RHIZOmatics is a site specific project that constantly evolves to offer new features at each presentation. It meets specific needs, or offers artists and projects new creative possibilities. The literary / fragmentary / poetic content of this RHIZOMatics@LLN were created by students from different departments of UCL during workshops supervised by the French novelist and essayist Belinda Cannone in Louvain-La-Neuve. At the end of the process, a geolocations audio-visual literary journey is proposed through several geographical points in Louvain-la-Neuve. On the occasion of the Biennale Transnumériques, an additional point where the course is taking place, was created at the Museum L (where the Digital Writings exhibition is presented) as well as new soundscapes that complete the original texts and sound bank.
