Pour son édition 2015, les Transnumeriques Awards (initiés par Transcultures, Centre interdisciplinaire des cultures numériques et sonores – commissaire artistique : Jacques Urbanska/arts-numeriques.info)  proposent de faire un focus sur le format GIF et ses images animées, le plus souvent mises en boucle au travers de plusieurs expositions en ligne sur la plateforme spamm.be, doublée d’une série d’expositions « physiques ». Pour la Biennale d’art contemporain et patrimoine ARTour (sur le thème cette année du rapport contemporain au travail), c’est au Centre de la gravure et de l’image animée que vous seront présenté la cinquantaine d’oeuvres sélectionnées pour cette édition.

Les prochaine éditions des Transnumeriques Awards auront lieu à Lille en octobre, au Festival Digital Art Taipei (Taiwan) début novembre et fin novembre aux Transnumériques@Mons2015.

Si les GIFs (Graphics Interchange Format) des débuts du Web étaient très simples, une nouvelle génération d’artistes est apparue fin des années 2000 et qui élève aujourd’hui le gif au rang d’œuvre à part entière. Avec de multiples expositions online (mais aussi ces dernières années, des expositions dans des galeries d’art contemporain), le GIF se distingue par rapport à ce qu’il génère comme points de rencontres d’une certaine culture dont il est devenu, si pas l’emblème, en tous cas l’exercice de style…

For it’s edition 2015, the Transnumeriques Awards (initiated by Transcultures, interdisciplinary Center of mediaart and sound cultures – curator : Jacques Urbanska/arts-numeriques.info) are focused on Gif format. Through a serie of online (on spamm.be plateform) and offline exhibitions. For the ARTour Biennal, the physical exhition will take place in Centre de la gravure et de l’image animée (Centre of Engraving and the animated image).

The next editions of Transnumeriques Awards will take place @ Lille in Octobre, a Digital Art Taipei Taipei (Taiwan) early November and the end of novembre @ Transnumériques@Mons2015.
